Benefits and limits
32.5% off qualifying SCE electricity bills
Full requirements
SCE residential households can qualify for CARE through household income or participation in an accepted public-assistance program such as CalFresh, Medi-Cal, LIHEAP or SSI. The current June 1, 2026 through May 31, 2027 CARE annual income limits include $43,280 for one or two people and $66,000 for four people. Owners and renters may qualify, and SCE provides a separate application route for qualifying submetered tenants billed through their landlord. FERA is a different discount with its own income band and should not be treated as a second CARE payment.
