Benefits and limits
Free solar
Full requirements
Applicants must own and live in a single-family primary home, receive electricity from PG&E, SCE or SDG&E, and have a qualifying disadvantaged-community address under the program's map. Household income must meet CARE or FERA limits; GRID's 2026–2027 maximums include $54,100 for one or two people, $68,300 for three and $82,500 for four. GRID must screen the household and property; an existing rate-program enrollment does not establish solar eligibility by itself.
