Official program name: Home Battery Rebate (SGIP)
Benefits and limits
Current SGIP support depends on the eligible provider budget and project
Full requirements
The current Residential Solar and Storage Equity pathway serves qualifying low-income California residential electric or gas customers installing eligible solar and storage systems. Single-family applicants can establish eligibility through household income at or below 80% of area median income or qualifying participation in SASH, DAC-SASH, CARE, FERA or ESA. Separate affordable-multifamily requirements apply, and the program administrator must confirm the correct budget, equipment, reservation and demand-response requirements. Legacy SGIP budget categories shown in older finder material ended for new applications in 2025; do not assume their former discount tiers remain available.
