Resolution, calling for and giving notice of a General Municipal Election to be held in the City of Desert Hot Springs on November 5, 2024, for the "Desert Hot Springs Fiscal Stability/Local Control Measure" and Authorize the City Manager to negotiate and execute a contract amendment with the Lew Edwards Group in an amount not to exceed $68,500.00 for the extension of the Consulting Agreement for Municipal Election Informational Services.

1) Adopt a Resolution of the City Council of the City of Desert Hot Springs calling and giving notice of a General Municipal Election to be held in the City of Desert Hot Springs on November 5, 2024, regarding a ballot measure titled "Desert Hot Springs Fiscal Stability/Local Control Measure" asking Shall the measure to maintain Desert Hot Springs' fiscal stability/ general services, including maintaining 911 emergency/ police response; anti- gang/ drug programs; crime prevention/ investigation; disaster preparation; pothole repair; preventing road/ bridge closures; homelessness prevention; attracting local businesses by keeping public areas clean, safe, well-lit; by establishing a 1c sales tax, providing approximately $2,400,000 annually until ended by voters, with public spending disclosure/all funds spent in Desert Hot Springs, be adopted? 2) Authorize the City Manager to negotiate and execute a contract amendment with the Lew Edwards Group in an amount not to exceed $68,500.00 for the extension of the Consulting Agreement for Municipal Election Informational Services.

Approve Staff recommendation and adopt Resolution No. 2024-030.
